Again she laughed, more pleased with his enthusiasm than she might have anticipated. It was a rare joy to be with someone so easy, so utterly without expectation; some darker, more selfish part of her admitted that it also made it far simpler to get what she wanted with the least amount of work. She had a sneaking suspicion the choice of dining would also be left up to her, and she admitted she had no small flare of enthusiasm when considering the possibilities - with Sean, she would actually have the chance to test out the wealth of organic, vegetarian, and even vegan restaurants Southern California had to offer.
"Friday or Saturday," she said. "I'm back to working normal shifts, so we can act like actual human beings now. Just please don't let me forget to give Fee a heads up." She stared down at her drink, sloshing ice around within it, sending the cherry bobbing merrily around the little cubes. "I shouldn't have put you in that situation earlier. I'm sorry it went kind of rough."
