Re: At the bar (Sean, Karin)
Had she known the thrust of his thoughts, there might have ensued at least a minor argument. Karin had never been one to give in frequently even to drunkenness; she had even less respect for drowning one's problems in drugs, prescription medication, or any other chemical distraction. Hers was a spartan life in some ways, far more focused on self control and mastery of the body, rather than giving in to such needs. Thankfully the conversation was avoided, and the night could go on in relative peace.
Karin finished her drink off in short order, wiping the sweetness from her lips with the back of her hand. She chuckled at his assessment of his skill, or lack thereof, deciding it would be best to take him at his word; with Fee in attendance, her relationship with Karin's new would-be significant other already somewhat strained, providing yet another point on which Fee might mock the man was not high on Karin's to-do list. She pushed the glass back toward the bar, signalling the waitress to saunter back over.
"It's alright, Sean," she said, flashing him a slow smile. "I won't ask you to sing. Just dance with me for a couple of songs when the band comes on. You can do that for me, right?"
