“Doesn’t it?” She couldn’t help but sigh dreamily. A lot of people would say that her idea of a Hawaiian paradise was awful. There weren’t any colorful drinks or balcony massages. But she was glad that he agreed with her. If she wasn’t already completely at ease in his company, she was now.
Cassie made a little victorious squeak as at they changed course. She already had her bikini underneath so she tugged off her shirt without hesitation, her shorts coming off just as easily. There was a quick glance out of the corner of her eye, an impressed appraisal as he took off his shirt and then she was ambling after him towards the water. “You can’t just keep cooking for me!” It wasn’t that she didn’t like these prospects; her bright grin was evidence of that. “Come on, that’s unfair. I have to be able return the favor. But not with cooking. I don’t want to kill you.”
The sea was cool to touch and she only had a split second of hesitation, toes that were used to the burning sand now afraid of the cold water. But just as quickly as it came, it went, and rather than try to acclimatize she dove head long when a wave came in. It wasn’t even close to deep and her feet easily walked across the sand below but she let her head fall back to lie against the waves as she listened to him. “That sounds awesome,” and she meant it too. Anything that made him smile like that was fantastic. “Yeah, definitely the simpler days were the happiest ones.” The waves had been gently pulling her away from the shore so she took a moment to swim closer to Paul, the ebb and flow of the water bring her to shoulder bumping proximity. She gave him a sheepish grin before reminding him, “You didn’t ask me one. Or do you feel you’re done ‘Getting to Know’ me?”
