“Yes!” She chirped happily, not bothering to hide her excitement at his invite. Her hands curled into little fits that bopped as she did a little victory dance on the sand. Subtle? Cassie was not, but she was genuine in her enthusiasm and that was better in her opinion. “I’m looking forward to seeing what Alton Brown recipe you’re going to do next.”
She hadn’t heard of the book he mentioned although she made a note to check it out the next time she was looking for something to read. So far, Paul seemed to have tastes that lined up nicely with hers. Seeing and hearing him talk about his boat almost made her coo. It was obvious that he loved it and it made her smile in turn. Now she really couldn’t wait to see it. “What’s her name?” The boat, of course.
Questions about diving made her turn purse her lips to the side in thought. “Around. Used to dive around Catalina in college because it was convenient. Sometimes we’d drive down to Mexico and swim around there if we could spare the weekend. It was great to around Hawaii, but I haven’t been back since, oh god since I graduated high school.” That seemed like ages ago. “We should go diving sometime. If you’re up for it. Night diving? Hm? Hmmm?” Her grin grew wider and her eyebrows bounced in a little wag, as if that would make her offer all the more enticing.
But that wasn’t her actual question. She wasn’t going to let her turn pass without one. This time, perhaps something not obviously water related. “Favorite... bad movie? Like, terrible. So-embarassing-if-anyone-knew-but-thank-god-it's-only-Cassie-asking sort of bad.”
