"Usually," she nodded. "But the way earth's been going, anomalies are happening a lot more than they should be." It wasn't the neatest explanation for what happened, but it was the only conclusion she could come up with it. "But hey, that's why we do what we do, right? Try to stop the downward spiral of the earth and ocean."
"I'm loving it," she chirped brightly, her hand coming up to shield her eyes as she squinted, adjusting to the sunlight. "I mean like you said, a little paper heavy at first, but it's only the beginning. And the labs are fantastic. Freaking fantastic! All the facilities are. Ugh! I wish I was playing in them more than making fundraiser calls, but hey, I'm new. I can hang." This was pretty much the extent of Cassie's whining. As much as she hated the calls and the papers, she had her share of dues to pay. It could be worse. "How's everything going for you? Hopefully the weirdness of your days only apply to the weather."
