It's Brittany, Bitch | Ερις ([info]eristic) wrote in [info]paxletalelogs,
Charlie had watched with careful eyes as Elias seemed to fight with the low priced, name brand clothing proffered by this fine retail establishment. What the hell was he doing here, of all places? Especially in the women's section - was she about to learn that her neighbor was some kind of...lady's man? The thought of Elias trying to pick up women in the female clothing department of Macy's pulled a snicker from her throat, which she smothered with a clapped hand over her mouth.

She had looked away for a moment, trying to pull it together while he and the salesperson were cleaning up their 'accident' - only to look back and find Elias heading right in her direction. There was simply no escape; she was right against a wall. Moving toward him would reveal her hiding place, since none of the other racks were tall enough to hide her, even with her short stature, and walking backward would only put off the inevitable end of their unknown game of hide and seek.

So, as she often did with many things in life, Charlie bit the bullet and stepped out from behind her clothing rack, immediately putting herself into Elias' line of vision. She attempted to keep her face apathetic, as though the revelation of any emotion would be cause for judgement from all parties in her immediate vicinity. The bag on her arm was, thankfully, opaque and well sealed, keeping her private purchases concealed from prying eyes. Elias didn't seem the curious sort, and Charlie was hopeful that this entire scene would play out quickly.

Upon closer inspection, she realized that the other man seemed a little...lost, or at least out of his comfort zone. Her earlier thoughts of him attempting to procure a date here were squashed (something for which she was immediately grateful) and she almost felt a drop of sympathy for him. Almost. Charlie had no idea what had brought him to this area of Macy's to begin with. From the way he dressed and acted, he seemed too fancy to really even grace such a location with his presence. Whatever the reason, the mystery would surely be cleared for her in the next few moments, as their paths were about to converge.

Slowly, she raised a hand in greeting, albeit a little laboriously as though the motion were too taxing and unimportant to complete. "Elias. Lil' lost?"
