"I can only imagine how long it took to get them here, especially since books are the heaviest thing to move. I always hated finding boxes for books, because a box was either to big or too small to be good for books." Victorian literature was one of Iris's weaknesses and there was nothing, absolutely nothing like Colin Firth's Pride and Prejudice to amuse her on a dark rainy day. As Iris looked around the room, she suddenly wondered what Juliet would think of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, not exactly classical literature so she was sure she wouldn't approve, but the book never failed to make her laugh. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
"The movie has been out for quite some time actually, here and there, but I believe it's directed by Cary Fukunaga." She never would've remembered that if she hadn't just recently been looking it up. It definitely had been partially another form of apology, even though she had wanted to eventually ask the girl if she would want to go see a movie some time. Making friends was incredibly awkward for Iris, and she was beginning to wonder why she bothered to try at all. Making friends with the woman she terrorized with her escaped snake was certainly not the brightest idea, but what could she do? "No rush, just let me know some time, I'm right upstairs."
