Iris's eyes widened as she saw Juliet, her fear instantly confirmed. The one girl that had replied to her open forum message, the only one to express honest fear over the snake was exactly the same woman who Katie had crawled her way to. As soon as she had a free minute, Iris had planned on knocking on Juliet's door and inviting her out for coffee or a movie. The local artsy movie theater was playing the new Jane Eyre, Michael Fassbender made anything better, but it wasn't exactly the type of movie people from work wanted to go to. Also she was now in the position of being a boss, she couldn't exactly go out with employees, even if they DID give her the time of day, which they really didn't. Her hopes of having a new friend one floor below shattered as she saw Juliet's face.
"I don't even know how to begin to apologize, so let me get Katie back into her tank and I'll explain everything. I'm SO very sorry." Iris let herself into Juliet's apartment, and picked up Katie, letting the snake wrap around her neck and arm. The bigger Katie got, the more difficult it would be to carry her alone but thankfully she was still manageable. Iris quickly exited Juliet's apartment, heading upstairs with Katie. Once Katie was back in her tank already swallowing the rat, Iris checked every single inch of the cage, making sure nothing was loose or could easily become loose. It was hard to believe that she had missed such an obvious opening, but she had. The combination of work and moving had really gotten the better of her and she felt foolish. She locked the sliding glass door with a key on her lanyard, and headed back downstairs to Juliet, trying to figure out how to apologize. Gee, I'm sorry for terrifying you with my six foot long snake, didn't exactly sound convincing.
