That reaction was one she had sorely missed. She use to get it from guys all the time. Coming from him, it meant more though. She wanted his approval. In the past, their approval had been nice, and it had made her feel good, but it had never been particularly important. She had never felt like this about a guy before. She didn't even understand what it was yet, exactly, but she knew it was serious.
She stepped gingerly into his apartment. She was nervous about stepping into his place. She hadn't actively pursued or flirted with anyone in a long time, she wasn't sure she knew what she was doing anymore. At the shop, she had the counter she could hold onto and it was familiar territory. Not so much here. Her confidence wavered somewhat. She knotted her fingers together behind her back and tugged at her pink sweater, trying to be casual as she studied what she could see of his place. She wasn't very good at it.
"I'm fabulous!" She really was. "I just....wanted to see how you were doing? Did Alex like her flowers?"
That was really lame. But she hadn't thought far enough ahead to come up with a reason as to WHY she was dropping by to see him. She wasn't the best at planning.
