Even through the haze of fatigue, Richard grinned at the compliment. Samuel was practically a walking stereotype, and any man who carried a gun in his own home was suspect in Richard's book, but he found himself liking the military man. And he was, much to his surprise, enjoying their game quite a bit. It had been a long time since he had faced off with anyone like this, and getting the old muscles stretching felt good. He tried to awaken them again, slowly pondering what his next question would be, when he was interrupted by the shudder of the elevator.
"No doubt!" he replied to Samuel, gathering up his bags and moving nearer to the door. "I guess you get off without that last challenge. I would try to care, but I just want out of this deathtrap." Never again, Richard decided, was he going to be found on this elevator. Stairs were healthier, anyway.
