The Python reference had not gone unnoticed; at just that small provocation Samuel caught himself wondering if perhaps he had not judged Pax's new arrival too quickly. His lips parted as if to comment on this situation, but no sooner had he made the motion than the elevator began to perform its all too typical mischief.
"Fuck," Samuel muttered, tipping an ear up toward the disturbingly grinding sound issuing forth from the ceiling above. "It does it more than we want," he admitted, "but it's been good for a while. I guess that new concierge needs to have the importance of regular maintenance impressed on him again." Samuel made a mental note to be the one to teach the relatively new hire that very important lesson himself if need be. "I did get stuck in here when I first moved in," he said. He looked back to Richard, grinning as he assessed the other man's value as a fellow trapped rider. "This is what we get for being lazy, I guess."
