Rylee smiled shyly as Charlie turned the tables to her benefit. Away from awkward discussion of her job and their meeting, so long as Charlie seemed more comfortable, Rylee would happily accept discussion of he and Samuel's misadventures.
"We didn't get into trouble," Rylee exclaimed. Turning to Cat, Rylee grinned and explained, "Samuel lives across the hall from me. He took me out to a bar awhile ago and got me a little drunk. I don't remember much from that night but I do know Charlie took care of me."
He turned his grin to Charlie, forever thankful of how quickly she had helped him, but there was something else in his eyes that showed he remembered enough of that night to still bring up some level of embarrassment. Still, for the time being and while they were in front of Charlie's friend, he wouldn't bring that up. "He's a good friend," Rylee commented as he reached for his wine glass again, having finally finished his plate of food and feeling contently full.
