Casually, Cat watched the exchange, both silent and not, between Charlie and Rylee, smiling slightly as she took a sip of her wine. While it seemed fairly clear that she wasn't hearing the whole story, Cat wasn't one to pry. It seemed she'd stumbled on a sensitive subject, and now wasn't at all the time to press it. Even so, she found herself somewhat concerned, and wondered if there was any way she could help.
That thought alone caught her a bit by surprise, and her smile curved a little more clearly as she nodded.
"Well that is a lovely coincidence, it sounds like," she said with a smile. "Quite comforting to reconnect with someone you've not seen for so long, especially since it seems as though the two of you were close growing up."
Her plate was fairly clear now, and she found herself content; pleasantly sated and charmed by the company.
"How is the rest of the building? I'm afraid I haven't had much time to make the acquaintance of many other tenants. Have the two of you met many of the other residents here?"
