Cat smiled as Charlie entered the flat and led Rylee inside. The decor was elegant, modern, and particularly European, with the walls in the large, open living room painted midnight blue with broad white moldings and furniture and silver accents. The ocean view was plain to see through the large, uncovered windows, and the way the apartment was arranged gave the impression of an appreciation of aesthetics, and subtle cues indicated that this was not at the cost of comfort.
"It's my pleasure, Rylee," she said, offering a warm smile. With a nod toward the table, she followed after him. When they arrived, she stood at the head of it, gesturing to each dish. "We have Thai iced tea, just there... Then that's a very typical and very well-made Pad Thai; the best in Newport Beach, I'm told. It should be mildly spicy, but not too hot." She offered a little smile.
"Next is mango chicken, medium spice -- a six of ten, I would guess. A personal favorite of mine." She gave them both a wink.
"And then this is not for the faint of heart -- a red curry with beef."
She paused. "Oh, it seems I've forgotten the jasmine rice!" She laughed. "Please sit, I'll just run and get it."
