The table was set with modern, sophisticated dinnerware: square, dark blue plates, cylindrical wine glasses. There was a pair of lacquered chopsticks on the right side of each plate and a fork on the other, and three different takeout containers, in addition to three plastic cups of Thai iced tea.
Though Cat preferred to set an elegant table, her attire was much more casual; a pair of well-cut jeans, simple ballet flats that showed her to be much smaller than most ever realized, and an off-the-shoulder shirt belted at the hips. Her hair was loose, and she only wore a bit of daytime appropriate make-up when she greeted the pair at the door.
With a smile, she reached out to give Charlie a hug.
"Charlie, thank you so much for coming," she smiled. She turned to their much taller dinner companion.
"And this must be Rylee." She smiled at him, then moved to allow them to enter. "Please, come in! You're perfectly on time, the food just got here not a few minutes ago."
