"Oh goody." She rolled her eyes and gave him a look that clearly broadcast how ridiculous she thought this was. She was use to this sort of thing. Guys would join her, make passing conversation and hope to get on her good side so the could score a date. She found this tactic to be cheap and unoriginal, so anyone who attempted it was instantly rebuffed. The smarter ones would give up and move on. The dumb ones, however, wouldn't take the cold shoulder for an answer.
"My definition of quick and painless is running without someone chit chatting at me while I try to concentrate."
She refused to look at him. Perhaps if she just didn't look at him or acknowledge him beyond what she already had, he would go away. She didn't hold high hopes on that one. He didn't look like one of the bright ones.
