Rylee turned his gaze to Karin, hearing her laugh brought a smile to his face while the laughter of the others garnered a glare. She had seemed quiet, thoughtful every time Rylee had met with Karin but now she seemed to be a little sad, or maybe she was ill. Still, Rylee was happy to see her smile, even if it was at the expense of himself and the experience with the poor chipmunk.
"My father and Charlie wouldn't let me live it down. Once I got my license, my dad got me a used car and stuck and stuffed animal of a chipmunk inside as a joke." Leaning back in his chair he gave a nod. "I took it as a cautious reminder."
Smiling at Charlie, his eyes settling on his friend, he continued to talk to the sisters. "But stealing just one car that one time wasn't the only thing Charlie did. She was always dragging me into situations that we could get in trouble for. Despite living in a small town, Charlie made life interesting."
