Fee looked at him for a minute, seeing how distraught he was at the death of what basically amounted to a tree rat, and then burst out laughing. Immediately she closed her mouth and coughed.
"Sorry," she said, trying to suppress her grin. She turned to the waiter. "Cheeseburger, bloody as hell, cheddar, bacon, mushrooms. Thanks. And a pint of whatever cute microbrew organic stout you guys keep here."
At the mention of car thievery, Fee laughed again, shaking her head. "I only ever stole my parents' car. Or friends parents' cars. How'd you get into all that?" she asked, taking a drink from her water glass, wishing it were a beer.
"Hey," she said to the waiter. "Could you bring me my beer first? Like, soon. My doctor here --" she nudged at Karin -- "says if I don't have constant access to beer, I could die."
