Suddenly the mini-golf course seemed to have a dark cloud hovering over it, casting a shadow on the once fun game. The idea of hitting balls into holes no longer held any semblance of fun, not with the subject matter they were slowly working through.
"And yeah, I agree. There has to be a landlord." Gripping the ball in his hand, Max fell quiet for a moment. Then he glanced back to Lucy. "Do you think you could ask Alex and James if they've met the landlord? I can ask Fee and her sister, my sister too. Just, you know, see if anyone knows anything."
