"Oh, think nothing of it, sweeting," Aphrodite said, looking up at the laughing goddess with a serene smile of her own. "How can I help but appreciate one who helps me and mine thrive as you do?"
She gave Eris a wink. Then, she cocked her head to one side, assessing the younger goddess' appearance.
"I do wish you'd let me put you in a nice clean chiton just once. And do your hair. You're really quite lovely, Eris."
Aphrodite knew it was a lost cause; it wasn't as though she hadn't offered before. But Eris was perfectly content as she was -- which, in her wiser moments, Aphrodite knew was right and fitting. However, this wasn't one of her wiser moments, and her only thought was offering some sort of reward to Eris for her lovely gift.
