Every word out of either of their mouths was making her more uncomfortable. She took a step back, moving her closer to the door. She reached up to the hook where her bag generally hung, and took her keys.
"Look, I don't know if either of you noticed, but one of you just gave the other a black eye, and whatever caused that is not resolved. The tension between the two of you is making me uncomfortable, and I'm not going to sit through a meal pretending it's not there." She neglected to mention the embarrassment of being called out on her feelings for Adam, but she hoped that had flown under the radar.
"I understand that you're both sorry, and that's great, but if you want to keep whatever issue there is between the two of you to yourselves, you probably shouldn't have gotten into a fight in my apartment. I'm going to go. Though please, as a personal favor to me, can you guys refrain from beating on each other?"
