At first, she looked at each of them with equal measures of disbelief, disgust, and shame, the latter pinkening her cheeks as she took a long breath.
"No."
She took a long drink of wine, nearly draining her glass. Her thoughts were swirling around in her head too quickly to manage, her embarrassment and hurt quickly being consumed by her anger at the fight that had obviously happened, but more so at both Adam and Jamie's unwillingness to even admit anything had happened. The thought struck her that if Adam didn't have a fist-sized bruise swelling up his eye, that they would have kept it from her entirely.
"I've lost my appetite."
With that, she drank the rest of her wine.
"Since the two of you obviously have some kind of 'misunderstanding' to work out, I'm going to leave the two of you to it."
Once she set her glass down, she started walking toward the door.
