Julian's head swiveled toward the sound of the confident voice - his eyes appraisingly slid down her body, less in the manner of an older man checking out a younger woman and more so in someone taking the stock of a potential asset. He smiled, a professional curve of his lips that said he didn't quite know what to make of who was standing in front of him, but he was going to be perfectly polite regardless, even if it was only to entertain himself in seeing what might come of this situation.
He turned completely around and took Fiona's hand in a firm grip; rather than give it a brief kiss in a lingering fashion that usually swept women off their feet, he kept it short, sweet and very business like.
"You don't look old enough to be in here, let alone slinging drinks. Is this To Catch A Predator?" His tone was joking, and he put down the clipboard and pen combination he'd been using to inventory the bar. Ysolde glanced at him from the opposite end of the bar; she'd been informed of the interview, but Julian had said he wanted to handle it himself. His hands spread out comfortably on the counter top as he slightly leaned forward.
"If memory serves, you said you were licensed and had tended bar in New York. That's a good start - why don't you have a seat, I've got a few questions. You want a Shirley Temple or something?" He grinned a little wider at that, and moved to walk around the end of the counter in order to join Fiona on the bar stools. Usually he took candidates into the back room, but it was slow and the band was taking a break between sets, thus fairly quiet. The bar itself would be a good of a place as any to conduct an interview, especially one he was now taking half seriously.
