For more than one reason, but there was no need to get into that. Then she frowned slightly. What if Alex told him her secret? They were apparently close siblings, so it was a possibility perhaps. The idea made her absolutely sick. She didn't want him to know that she was broken and ill.
The idea of being able to simply walk down a few flights of stairs to see him made the fact that he was leaving a little more bearable. Just a little.
