Dov couldn't help but smile at the dog settled by his feet now that he wasn't too worried about getting kicked out. He'd gotten in, that meant she had to kind of care, right? He figured he'd try to tread carefully, and hopefully things would get a little less tense. Leaning forward, he scratched the dog's head, rubbing behind his ears. He'd always wanted pets, himself. Never did get any- their apartment didn't allow them, not counting fish because he didn't consider fish real pets. Fish were a decoration you had to feed, kind of like a plant that moved around more. Dogs, though, dogs were nice. "What's his name?" he asked.
Looking up from the dog who seemed quite content having a visitor, Dov snorted. "Yeah, 'cause I've totally had that happen. Total fuckin' everyday occurrence." Running a hand through his curls, he leaned back again with a shrug. "I dunno, I'm kinda curious as to what the hell happened y'know, before me. Ya don't hafta sugarcoat it, I don't care. I mean I love ma, but she wasn't a saint or nothin'. I wanna know the honest truth, 'cause nobody else is gonna give it to me. I'll do the same for you, if ya wanna know."
