"You're right," she said, cracking her shoulders and then her neck. As they slid into their ready positions, prepared to begin, she raised her right glove to her lips to give it a quick kiss. "I'll make this quick."
The fight was indeed quite brief. It began fairly one-sided, with Riley throwing the majority of punches while Samuel remained on the defensive. This fueled her anger more, inciting a fury of punches that wore away at Samuel's defenses. The turning point came when he began to retaliate with greater force, something that made her grin with glee.
He knew that he would lose.
The second half of the fight was furious, with Samuel moving offensively and Riley doing the same. She wasn't about to change her strategy, taking his punches as best she could while doling out her own. Before long, both were winded. One strong, well-placed punch to the gut dropped Samuel to his knees, and the fight was over.
Grinning, Riley bounced on the balls of her feet, backing up to give him air. "You okay?" she asked. Like in any fight, she had begun to shut out the outside world. But she was still present, and not too far gone to hope that she hadn't injured someone. After a moment, she stopped bouncing, standing solidly and taking a large breath. The blows he had landed over the course of the fight seemed to hit her at once as she paused, leaning over with her gloves on her knees.
