Rylee watched as Jack walked away from him, wishing Charlie hadn't had the dog move. He hadn't realized the fuzzy monster had become somewhat of a protective barrier for Rylee while he sat there and now without him Rylee felt exposed.
He glanced at Charlie, frowning as she pet her dog, then turned his attention back to Elias. The man didn't seem quite so threatening as before but Rylee still felt nervous. He just didn't like being around people he didn't know. Running a nervous hand through his hair he let out a breath.
"Um, no, no weird memories or anything. Just... just the thing I saw in the hall and... and the burn." He didn't enjoy remembering that night and a little crease formed in the center of his forehead as he ran his hand through his hair again. "I was in a lot of pain and I sort of clonked out on the floor. I don't remember much else."
His voice had grown soft and he looked at Charlie desperately. He didn't want to discuss this. He was happy pretending it never happened.
