Charlie made no motion to encourage or discourage Rylee in any of his descriptions - but she was glad that he gave a brief summary of events that didn't veer too far away from her own. She also noted that he never for a moment implied that she needed his help, though she doubted it would have much of an effect on Elias and his attempts to prisonize her apartment.
When Elias spoke, her vision turned to him for a moment, listening to the question that he'd asked of her as well - now this she was curious about. She'd told Rylee that she had heard voices (though it had been a brief description) but had been so swept up in her own malady that she neither remembered him asking nor describing hearing or seeing anything of the same. After a moment of staring at Rylee, she realized that the combination of both her and Elias zoning in on him in particular would be unnerving to her friend.
Balling up a hand into a fist, she coughed as though to clear her throat, and then bent down on her knees to crouch. A hand clap drew Jack's attention, and the dog wandered away from Rylee over to his mistress. Charlie caught Jack's head in her hands, giving him a rough shake; when she looked back up at Rylee, she tried to do so reassuringly, though was never certain what exactly that facial expression looked like.
