Sure enough, Rylee almost went into a panic attack. But instead of feeding into his anxiety, she waved a hand nonchalantly at him, her focus still on Elias and his strange gifts. For some reason, his admission toward the importance of knowing her safety struck a chord in her, something that she did not allow to register on her face. Something in her knew he was supposed to care, and while that was very sweet (and this was another part of her, something that was and was not her), she could very much take care of herself. Charlie frowned, letting the arm holding the nun-chucks to fall to her side before repositioning both arms in a cross over her chest. The nun-chucks dangled from one hand, hitting her hip with a gentle tap.
Charlie glanced over to Rylee, giving a shrug while trying to subtly apologize with her face and not let Elias see it. "Yeah, I said yah had some problems. It's not like I told him yah wet the bed growin' up," she drawled, trying to get her friend to lessen his worry. Especially since Elias was admitting that he too had had a strange encounter that same night - and maybe if Rylee expressed the thought that he, too, would rather let sleeping dogs lie, just maybe Elias would drop it and leave well enough alone. After all, they'd had that one strange night and nothing since. And she especially did not want her condition to become common knowledge around the apartment building. As sincere as Elias evidentially was in his attempt to safeguard her, Charlie simply hated admitting her PTSD. It certainly was the easiest explanation for her own symptoms on the night of the blackout, but it wouldn't explain Elias' and Rylee's reactions. On top of that, she had a sneaking suspicion that if Elias knew about her condition, he would only increase in his attempts to smother her (in her opinion).
Letting her mouth fall into a hard line, she kept her mouth shut from further comment, trying to carefully gauge Rylee's reactions. If he grew too panicked, she'd end this little visitation for his own good, and potentially save herself a headache as well
