Rylee would have enjoyed watching Elias' reaction to Charlie's spitting of her life information. She was a Marine, she had seen war and killed, much more than Rylee ever had. While Rylee could use his weight and strength for good and was a great shot, he was too much of a bleeding heart and would likely fail at protecting himself if there was ever an intruder. But Charlie, Charlie wouldn't pause, she would know just what to do and Rylee was sure that was part of what kept her alive in the IED explosion.
However, his concentration had changed considerably. His attention was back and forth between Charlie and this man. "You told him?" Rylee asked Charlie in a harsh whisper. The both of them had taken up a wonderful routine of pretending that nothing had ever happened on the night of the black out. They were quite good at ignoring things when they both wanted to. It's what kept Rylee from having anxiety attacks and Charlie from likely hurting something. But his anxiety was beginning to pick up as he realized Charlie had shared what he considered to be top secret information with someone else.
He felt his chest tighten as he looked at the other man. "Why do you care?" was the only response Rylee could muster. He didn't know what else he could ask the man but he felt this was a valid question. What was it to this random man who seemed so overprotective of his Charlie that he, Rylee, had a burn over a month before?
