For once, James had completely removed all fronts he so easily put up. He was carefree, happy, and yet there was a desperation twinged with sadness that he couldn't shake. He brought Adam to the cave and turned to face him at the entrance. The wind didn't reach the cave which took away some of the chill in the air, still, the temperature didn't seem to bother James or Adam.
Gently, as if Adam could break or disappear, James brushed his fingers on his friends cheek. He bent forward, lips touching faintly before he pulled away and tugged at Adam's hand. "Let's go further into the cave." His voice was hushed, gentle, and a tone so few people ever heard. "I've waited," James whispered, all that he could get to pass his lips before he kissed Adam again and led him further in. Towards the back James knew, in some twist of dreamlike knowledge, that what he needed would be there. Somewhere to lay, somewhere to proceed with his desires, but he took it slowly so as not to forget this moment because in another weird twist of dreamlike knowledge James knew he would never get this opportunity in the real world. And for that, he cherished this moment as if it were gold.
