"I guess that's true," Lia said, a sad little smile of her own emerging. It wasn't like her to dwell on her own losses and pain, though she'd had her share. Everything was just a way to get through, but she found Luc's attitude more positive and palatable than most. For her own part, she'd seen enough truth in it.
Though she grinned at his comment about being a heartbroken pup. Looking him up and down, she said, "Sorry, sweetheart, you don't seem like any kind of pup to me."
She gave him a little wink. "And honestly, I'm not in any great rush. This," she motioned to her ensemble, "was actually just outfit number one. I was going to change for this other thing I was going to make an appearance at, but there's time yet."
She shrugged fluidly and gave him a gamine smile. "No one shows up on time to these things."
