Rylee quickly stood straight, hands behind his back as he slipped into standing at ease, and gave a nod to Samuel. "One of my flashlights take D's so I'm sure I have extra ones in a drawer," he replied confidently although he felt a tiny bit nervous. It was strange, Rylee wasn't panicking over the fact that this man was invading his space but he felt a deep rooted need to impress this man.
After a momentary pause Rylee moved to the kitchen area and went to his emergency drawer. It was neatly packed with band-aids, a first aid kit, a eye-glass fixing kit (although Rylee didn't wear glasses, you never knew if you'd need such a thing), and an assortment of batteries- including D-cells. He grasped the packet and turned to Samuel, holding them out and unsure of how many he needed.
"So, you've lived here for awhile?" Rylee asked a little shyly, his voice quieter than usual.
