Normally Rylee's anxiety would escalate even more upon someone entering his apartment. Really, he still felt anxiety from just Charlie walking in, although that was of a different kind and for different reasons. This man, Samuel, simply stepped into Rylee’s home without an invitation and had anyone else done this Rylee would be sweating with unease. But to Rylee’s surprise, he wasn’t reacting that way at all. He did feel a little uncomfortable and baffled but he didn’t feel the icy twinge of fear running through his veins like he usually did in such situations. Instead Rylee stepped back and held out a hand, welcoming Samuel into his apartment.
“Thank you,” Rylee managed to reply, eyeing the man slightly but feeling the tension leave his shoulders. “I’ve been working hard to get everything moved into place since I got here.” Rylee observed Samuel for a moment, noticing his stance and the way he looked around, Rylee took a step towards the little kitchen but kept his eyes on the man. He couldn’t shake the feeling that he had seen Samuel before, other than passing by in the halls, and the fact that he felt so at ease around him was interesting as well.
“I’m Rylee Ekholm. It’s nice to meet one of my neighbors.” Rylee couldn’t help but smile, he did appreciate that someone was going out of their way to introduce themselves… even if it was also to borrow something. And when Rylee smiled he seemed to brighten up considerably, with his blond hair and bright blue eyes shining, it was one of the few times that Rylee didn’t look frightened. “What can I help you with?”
