Again she waved off her sister's concern, this time with a literal gesture of her hand. She wished more than before she had not mentioned this, had not brought up even in passing the thing that now haunted her so.
Karin chuckled at that, something a bit more herself in the sound. "One who at least has the decency to monologue for fifteen minutes before actually attacking someone, I hope." She drew a deep breath, exhaling on a sigh. She stopped short at a wall a comforting distance from their neighbors, leaning against its cool, dark plane. She didn't speak again until she was certain no-one was listening, though some small, quiet voice of reason told her there was no need for such caution. "I already looked into renting a boat. Jetski. Anything, really." The arch in her brow indicated quite clearly what she thought of that. "As it turns out, the island is off limits. The Coast Guard is very diligent about picking up trespassers." She laughed again, giving her sister's arm a rushed little squeeze. "Not that that would deter you, of course."
