He quickly took a seat next to his sister, hunching forward in a perfect display of poor posture. The dog was noted as well - animals didn't bother nor intrigue Max all that much, never having had a pet before (well, unless you counted Aunt Jill's million cats, but they'd never been his necessarily) - but he gave it just a passing glance as he looked over the rest of the people gathered in the lobby. Whether this was a poor time to meet others was totally beyond him; at that particular moment, he was far more interested in getting the power back on so he could get back to his games. The darkness didn't bother him in the slightest, it was the faint worry in the back of his mind that one of his beloved consoles, or his computer for that matter, could be damaged.
His gaze swung back to his sister, a faint smile curving his mouth. "Not my fault that you have work and I have class, Lil. But look! We're spending time together now! Must be the universe's way of saying 'hey, talk to your sibling'." His feet spread and elbows met his knees as he leaned forward more. A hand adjusted his glasses, curls falling over his forehead and into his eyes, but he did nothing to remove them. "Maybe they won't remember you and this'll all be like a bad dream. I mean, everyone is just standing around. I wonder what the problem is..."
