Lily grunted at her brother and slipped flip flops onto her bare feet before shuffling out of the room. She looked at the concierge wearily and muttered an apology. She really was so much more of a cheerful person than this but the last thing she wanted to be at this hour was awake.
She paused in the hallway and waited for Max, bleary eyed and trying not to yawn, she just wanted to lean on him and go back to sleep but now she had to face six sets of stairs. "S'what happened exactly?" She stifled another yawn and rubbed the back of her neck. "Was there a storm or something? I didn't hear anything and the electric was working when I went to bed."
She sniffed and wrapped her arms around herself. She should just go back into her room but then that would leave Max alone and what if they needed everyone downstairs. Hopefully it would be something quick that didn't involve much conversing and Lily could go back to bed. If that wasn't how things ended up, Lily only hoped there was a chair she could sit in so she could at least relax and tell herself that being relaxed was almost equivalent to sleeping.
