Lily squinted at Max, processing what he was saying slowly as she tried to clear out the fog in her head. She let out a sigh and ran her hands through her hair, trying to shake it into a neater mess then it already was and dropped her hands onto her lap. "Fine," she grumbled and put her feet on the floor. She stood to her full height, her long legs bare in the cotton shorts she was wearing, she'd just go downstairs in what she was wearing, but she'd put a sweatshirt on over her baggy t-shirt.
"Let me get a proper flashlight, we're definitely not bringing a light saber down stairs," She said with a point of her finger to Max's toy. She stumbled her way to the end of the bed, never having been one to walk around in the dark, and pulled on a sweatshirt as she slowly made her way out of her room.
"Max, why is your book bag on the couch?" She grumbled as she began to dig around in a junk drawer then paused and turned to her brother. She still looked dazed, her hair a mess despite her efforts, and she fought to keep her eyes open. But taking care of her brother only came naturally and she was running on autopilot. "Do I smell candy?"
