A voice in the back of her mind was telling her to just leave well enough alone, but Prudence buried it. She was not going to let someone just be hurt because they wanted to be - no one had reached out to her, and she wasn't going to let that happen to someone else. She just had to keep reminding herself to be persistent. If Naea said no again, she really was going to get out of the car. Thank goodness she'd decided to wear combat boots to work today, she'd be able to chase Naea down the street if it came to that.
"Do you really want me to list reasons? Mostly, you're being stupid. I don't care what happened, I'm at least giving you a ride back to the apartment building. Get. In. The. Car." Pru was almost scooching out of the passenger side of the car, intent on making a grab for Naea's sleeve or arm or whatever came to hand first. "You can have all the time to yourself you want back at your apartment, which is a hell of a lot dryer and safer than walking around in the dead of night in the pouring rain."
