Shae straightened up as he approached the cowering brunette, wincing a little at the final few thrums of pain in his side. "'Dat be me," he returned with as disarming a smile as he could manage, suppressing the urge to laugh at her ridiculously transparent excuse. She may have been a shrinking violet type, but somehow she wore it well.
"What's 'dat 'bout a robot?" He stooped to retrieve her Tupperware, holding it out to her for a few moments and then snatching it just out of reach with a playful grin. "Can' know fo' sho' less you check. Go 'head, I' wait. Won' even scream...too loud." He tucked the container under his arm and waited to see how his new neighbor would respond to that.
