Nodding warmly, Zio rewarded her smile with one of his own - less sweet but carefully friendly. "I'll do that. I'll also try to keep that compliment from going to my head." He stepped from the elevator and the doors slid shut behind him in silence. Then he shouldered his bag and lifted his free hand to scrape back through his hair. He tilted his head and his expression had shifted to wry in the brief moment of silence. "I might as well warn you now," he added, "that I'm going to be in the area of Newton's on Friday so I might end up eating there. Just in case you want to call in dead and encourage Christy to go on a long vacation. Whatever you like."
Dark eyes laughing now, Zio ducked his head in a slight bow that allowed him to hide his sudden smirk. "Have a good day, Miss Benson. Maybe I'll see you around." Then, with that, he pivoted on his heel and strode past her, through the lobby, and out the front doors of Pax into the sunshine.
