Re: at the bar: Open
((ooc: so sorry this is so late! ;_;))
Jack gave a soft, wry snort. "In a manner of speaking, yeah," he replied, glancing out at the dance floor again as the bartender delivered his refill. The music had changed, and Kami was nowhere to be seen. "We're, ah... former co-workers." He decided to leave it at that, his tone implying there was more to the story than he was prepared to talk about.
Picking up the glass, he glanced around, trying to spot Kami. His gaze paused on a stunningly gorgeous dark-haired angel a bit further down the (very long) bar -- literally an angel, with lovely tiny white wings, sipping what looked like a strawberry margarita. He barely managed to bite his tongue before he said what he was thinking about her; didn't want to risk pissing off the stunningly gorgeous woman standing right in front of him. Nevertheless, he did file the angel-girl away for future fun this evening. There was nothing stopping him from being just as aggressive a flirt as Kami was.
Lia's name finally filtered through the booze and distractions and rang a bell in Jack's head. "Oh, wait, Lia?" His smile widened in recognition. "You replied back to my little hi-I'm-the-new-guy on the building message board thing. Nice to actually meet you in person. Though I have to say," he added warmly, "you're even lovelier than I imagined."
He took a sip of his drink, then knocked it back and signalled for yet another. "So, how do you know Kami? Do you know the guy she was dancing with, too? I really haven't had much time to meet my fellow Pax residents yet."
