Alex blushed as she laughed, but fortunately, her white face paint hid it. "All right, all right," she agreed, resisting the urge to take his hand in her gloved one for some sense of comfort. She did stand close to him though as she edged closer to actually moving forward.
"You're right. But you should go first," she said with a little smile. "You're taller, and I won't lose you in the crowd," she reasoned. The crowd was getting a little thicker, and while maybe she could be convinced to be a little bolder tonight than normal, she still felt better with Adam going first.
