Re: Entrance, ~7-7:30 PM
Zara laughed delightedly at Rick's commitment to staying in character - in SoCal, a flair for performance wasn't rare, but their new friend brought such verve to it that she couldn't help but be charmed. She was taking a look around when Navid prompted her, and she caught him looking at her costume again.
She grinned happily.
She'd worked hard on their costumes. Granted, she was no expert seamstress, so parts of it had been bought: Navid's cummerbund, pants, and boots. She'd altered a shirt to match Prince Eric's. But she'd used everything her grandmother had taught her about sewing to make her own costume - aside from the long, fire-engine red wig, which she'd bought, she'd made the whole rest of the costume herself. Her seashell top was fashioned out of two scallop shells (large enough for modesty), painted purple and lightly dusted with glitter, then strung together with a strong matching ribbon. But the star of the show was her tail: made from the pattern for a mermaid tail dress, she'd only made the bottom half in a shimmering sea-green fabric. She'd fashioned "scales" out of large green sequins of varying shades and made the tail from yards of sea-green tulle crinkled under the fabric of the rest of the skirt.
Overall, she was proud of her work, and smiled at Navid's appreciation of it. Looking to her companions, she asked, "Should we meet and greet a little? Or maybe get something to eat?"
