The topic of the building's metamorphosis intrigued her - at her college dorm, sure, they'd thrown up some decor on each floor, a few different themes, but not what it sounded like had been done here. And if Ren's reaction was anything to go by, well, everyone was a little taken aback by it.
But she jumped topics to him and Japan. "Wow, really? Are you from Japan? I mean, born there, not just that...yeah," she tongue twisted for a moment, trying to stay PC and not knowing if he would be insulted. Why would he? Why not? she mentally shot back at herself, and readjusted the box on her hip. "I've never been out of the country, myself. That's really neat that you're so...cultured," she added in, a smile breaking over her face on the last word. She had no idea if he was, but it seemed like an appropriate word. Weren't people who went to Europe and other countries supposed to be cultured? And then she switched topics again, to cover up any blunders she might have made. She was usually so much better at this social stuff.
"I believe you, about the floors. I heard a few rumors after I signed my lease - do you think it was some sort of stunt for Halloween?"
