"Strange?" Kami gave him another puzzled sideways glance, one dark eyebrow lifted in question. She stirred the chicken again but her motions were careful and he was able to stay cuddled up to her side. "I guess that's okay so long as it's still good." She giggled softly and managed to tilt her head just enough to rest hers against his shoulder for a moment before straightening again. Setting down the spatula, she reached for a jar of sauce. "If it ever gets not good, though, tell me. Okay? I'd hate to have met you, invited you up, and then... Hm, freaked you out or something. I'm gentle as a lamb, really. Honest." She grinned. "Never even bite unless by special request."
Suddenly, she offered him the jar and the new smile was far too sweet. "Care to help me, hon?"
