He could almost feel her smile against his shoulder and then, suddenly, he felt her arm slip around his back, settling just above the counter behind them. "Thank you," she whispered. "I probably don't deserve it but... Thank you."

Lifting her head again, Kami regarded Rick with affection and gratitude. "You are an amazing guy, did you know that?" she asked. "Really, Rick. A total prince and then some. Any girl in her right mind should snap you up."
