The thought of her in prison was a morbidly amusing one, though he hardly knew the girl well enough to say so. But he caught the look she threw him as they slid into their seats; it was difficult to resist an answering smile. He blew a cooling breath over his espresso, pale fingers curving close around the hot mug. "That's the first time I've heard of that kind of nosiness paying off," he said, laughing. "It sounds like something one of my sisters would do. Good to know sometimes it works out." His dark brow furrowed, a question belatedly coming to him. "So what did you go to school for, then? I can't imagine what kind of degree lends itself to book piracy."
