Adam gave a soft laugh, nodding at least some small measure of agreement. "Well that's something," he answered earnestly. His small, bright grin briefly showed itself. "Not a career change I'll ever consider, but if it keeps you in decent money and out of subpoenas when he inevitably gets sued, I guess you're doing all right."
The line moved at a surprisingly reasonable pace. After they'd placed their orders, Adam turned his attention to searching out a table, should they decide to linger. He found one near the plate glass window, indirectly sunlit and pleasantly warm, and turned to her as much for approval as to continue their paused conversation. "So how does someone get into a job like yours?" he asked. "It doesn't seem like the kind of thing that'd be posted to a job board, exactly."
