Lukas didn't recognize the name Paul, although he was fairly certain it had been mentioned on the building's forum at least once. But he did recognize worry, and the word had him migrating to a cabinet. The counters were clean, save for one empty box from a frozen tv dinner, and there were about twenty five glasses in the sink. But he dug a clean one out of a cabinet, just for her. It was a bit of nostalgia from one night permanently pegged in his memory; a plastic kiddie cup with a tyrannosaurus rex printed on the side. Wide, smiling fangs.. they reminded him of someone.

He pointed the cup at her, because if tears were coming into the picture, Lukas would rather her drink them down. He didn't know how to not collapse in the face of heartbreak.

Taking the notepad a moment later, he scribbled with one hand before showing it to her. Big, block letters.
